Flagged by Fairfax County as having Orange-grade soil, the site had naturally occurring asbestos in underlying rock formations. All material from the site, including surface soil and rock from the blasting operation, was removed and disposed of properly. Special site measures were instituted during excavation and blasting in order to prove adequate air quality recording.
